MEET THE OWNER

Established in 2021, Maya Outdoor Living is the embodiment of owner Jose Maya's passion for outdoor design and leisure. Jose began his professional career as an IT Project Manager in the oil and gas sector. He had the vision to take his knowledge of design and the outdoors and his years of building relationships in the industry to create his own business. And so, with a strong dedication to quality workmanship and customer service, Maya Outdoor Living was founded.

From pergolas and fire pits to outdoor kitchens, screened porches, and pools, Jose has built relationships with local vendors to ensure the best materials are used for every job. With Jose’s expertise and attention to detail, each project from Maya Outdoor Living is sure to make the most of any outdoor space.

Jose enjoys meeting with customers, learning about their vision, and providing input and direction as to how the project will flow. He desires to ensure that all of his clients know that when they work with Maya Outdoor Living, they are choosing to work with a higher standard designer and builder.

What does an initial visit look like?

Initially, we will visit the client's home to get an understanding of their vision and expectations. We will take measurements and discuss the details that matter to the client.
How does the design phase of projects work?

3D renderings will be created and sent over to the client. From there, we will do a review of the designs together and revise them as requested by the customer.
How do project proposals/quotes work?

Once designs are finalized, we will work on the quote. The final price a client will pay will be indicated on the project proposal we send. There are zero additional costs or hidden fees outside the proposal, unless a change order is made. We pride ourselves on being transparent and flexible with our clients in making sure we carry out their vision, all within reason.
How are project materials selected?

Once a proposal is agreed upon, we plan a visit for material selection. We have a variety of partners in which you can browse material selections; this ensures you get the exact material you want! Since you are the one investing in your project, you decide what we use.
What if HOA approval or permits are needed?

We handle all of the paperwork for your HOA as well as any permits needed in your location. This helps remove any stresses on your end! The permitting phase varies depending upon where you live. It can take as little as 1 week but can potentially extend up to 6-8 weeks.
How does the construction phase go?

Before we get started on a project, we will lay everything out. Once we agree on the final layout, the project will commence. Timelines vary on projects and are typically communicated during the proposal phase. The project site will be maintained, and we typically send project updates 3 times a week. Rest assured, we are always available to help answer questions!
